Hug your Reading Bear this Valentine's Day

You wouldn't believe the amount of love and friendship we have to celebrate on this day.  The Reading Bear Society is built on it -  starting with co-founder Joanne Roussy and her love for her sister Denise which founded the Reading Bear concept. There are countless volunteers who run the program - from school visits to research to book drives and communications. There are also donors and donors and donors !  We receive financial donations but also books, teddy bears, services and most importantly we receive people's valuable time. The friendship and love associated with the donation of time in today's busy culture is more than appreciated by the Reading Bear Society.Another thing that happens with volunteer run organizations such as this one is that it creates more love and friendships.  Bonds are built amongst our participants and lifelong friendships are forged. The more you give to your community, the more love you feel.  And most importantly, let's thank all the children, mentors and teachers in the schools who are reading to their bears.  This fosters the love of reading, creates new friendships and sends us on journeys together through the books we read that will shape our futures.So...
